EN Moita and Barreiro – both over on the far side of the Tagus River, are seen as “peripheral” cities within Lisbon Metropolitan Area. They allow us to reflect about the role that local cultural and creative milieus have on territorial development, and the way they feed identity(ies), and the cultural, social, and economic restructuring processes on a peripheral city in contemporaneity. The program will be focused on the portrayal and the visit to the creative scene of both municipalities, understanding the importance of their locally rooted context. Some of the most important local cultural agents and stakeholders (artists, programmers, municipalities and institutions) will welcome us to share their knowledge on this alternative cultural scene.

PT Moita e Barreiro – ambas do outro lado do rio Tejo, são vistas como cidades “periféricas” dentro da Área Metropolitana de Lisboa. Elas permitem-nos reflectir sobre o papel que os meios culturais e criativos locais têm no desenvolvimento territorial, e a forma como alimentam a(s) identidade(s) e os processos de reestruturação cultural, social e económica de uma cidade periférica na contemporaneidade. O programa será centrado no retrato e na visita à cena criativa de ambos os municípios, compreendendo a importância do seu contexto enraizado localmente. Alguns dos mais importantes agentes culturais locais e intervenientes (artistas, programadores, municípios e instituições) acolher-nos-ão para partilhar os seus conhecimentos sobre esta cena cultural alternativa.
