About Elisabete Tomaz
Designer and sociologist. She is a research assistant at DINAMIA’CET – Centre for Socioeconomic and Territorial Studies at ISCTE and a visiting assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon.
She has been involved in designing, implementing, and evaluating various local, national, and European projects in the areas of culture and the strategic planning and development of the territories. Her research focuses, namely, on the role and impact of cultural activities and creative dynamics on territories, in particular of non-metropolitan areas.
It is part of the COST Action Management Committee “The Geography of New Working Spaces and the Impact on the Periphery” (2019-2023), an international research network on new workspaces such as coworkings; makerspaces; fablabs; living labs, etc. She also participated in ACTION COST “Investigating Cultural Sustainability”, analyzing policies and strategies for culture and sustainable development.
